Business planning and financing

Wicklow People (West Edition) - - NEWS -

A WORKSHOP due to take place at Wicklow County Campus today (Wednesday, October 2) aims to demystify the process of business planning and raising finance for your business.

Organised by LEO Wicklow, the workshop is split into two parts and lasts from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. at a cost of €10.

The cornerstone of any business loan application is the Business Plan, and the first half of the workshop is devoted to the Business Plan. How to write a business plan for an investment proposal, grant or loan are the critical elements that must be included and how to structure the document.

The workshop will include general information on the types of loan finance available to small businesses from lenders such as the SBCI (The Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland), and specifically MFI (Microfinance Ireland) and the mainstream Banks and Credit Unions. In addition to this, other types of financing will be discussed, such as leasing, invoice discounting, crowd funding etc. Specific information is given on how loans are assessed, including the type of ratios and ‘what if ’ analysis that are generally applied.
