Kinnear’s late strike saves the day for Carnew
CARNEW EMMETS 4-10 AN TOCHAR 3-12
A late Emma Kinnear goal was the decisive score in a hotly contested U-16 ‘C’ championship final in Carnew on Saturday afternoon last.
This was a serious battle all the way through with An Tochar leading by two as the game entered its closing stages.
There were huge performances on the day from both teams. Aoife Stacey, Hannah Kelly, Eve Leacy, Macckensie Murphy all had fine games for the Roundwood side who were very well supported on the day.
The home side were ably driven on by Sophie Doran, Erin Callaghan, Emma Kinnear, Alan Dagge, Ciara Wafer, Caitlin Hughes and Molly and Hannah Munroe to name but a few.
But it was Kinnear’s late goal at the death that broke An Tochar hearts and sent the home crowd into riotous celebrations after a thoroughly entertaining battle from start to finish.
