Wicklow People (West Edition) - - NEWS -

THE next Bray Arts Show will take place at the Marello in Bray on Monday, October 7, at 8 p.m.

Admission is €5 or €4 concession.

Bray poet Shirley McClure passed away from cancer in September 2016. Her great friend and literary editor Jane Clarke has worked with her husband Philip Beck to bring out her last collection this year called Origami Doll : New and Selected Poems, published by Arlen House. Philip will read a selection of her work this evening, ranging from sizzling love poems via quirky insights into human nature to searing poems about cancer, with her beloved Scottie Minnie wandering through now & then.

Former Director of the annual N.I. Opera Fringe Festival (20029), George Fleeton taught Opera, Cinema, Literature and Theatre studies in Higher Education, north and south (1994-2014),

George will set the scene for Rossini`s greatest masterpiece

It is a tale of twists & turns , mistaken identities & where young love triumphs all wrapped up in Rossini`s unmistakeable & masterful music.

Don Mc Donald will play the low whistle. In the 70`s Don was influenced by the Chieftans and in the 80`s it was time to start playing and be a part of this most interesting & colourful world .
