Burst pipe causes wa­ter dis­rup­tion

A num­ber of homes in Dunlavin were with­out wa­ter for a time on Mon­day af­ter a wa­ter main burst.

Wa­ter sup­ply was af­fected in the Fri­ars Hill and sur­round­ing ar­eas dur­ing the in­ci­dent. Ac­cord­ing to Ir­ish Wa­ter, the re­pairs were com­pleted on Mon­day evening with a full ser­vice re­stored to home­own­ers.

Sep­a­rately, hy­drant re­pair works in Ti­na­hely caused some home­own­ers in the area to ex­pe­ri­ence a loss of wa­ter on Mon­day. Ir­ish Wa­ter’s web­site noted that the works were to take from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with wa­ter due to be fully re­stored around three hours af­ter the works were com­pleted.
