The An­nacurra Parish ta­ble quiz takes place on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 19, at 9 p.m. in the Sal­tee, €40 per ta­ble of four. Come along, sup­port and have some fun.Many thanks in ad­vance.


The Aughrim Sheep Show Com­mit­tee would like to thank ev­ery­one who helped make this year’s Show a suc­cess, in­clud­ing the buy­ers, the judges and the staff of Carnew Mart. A spe­cial word of thanks to all who sup­ported the Pre­sen­ta­tion Cabaret in O’Tooles, Aughrim, the pro­ceeds of which will go to St Col­man’s Hos­pi­tal, Rath­drum.


An­nacurra In­door Bowls Club com­menced their 22nd Season on Sun­day, Septem­ber 22. Bowls con­tin­ues Sun­day and Thurs­day evenings at 7 p.m. for the win­ter months from Septem­ber to April.

The club’s AGM took place on Sun­day, Septem­ber 29. The out­go­ing com­mit­tee were re­turned to of­fice un­op­posed, ex­cept Fr John-Paul Sheri­dan PP re­placed Fr Jim Ham­mel, who re­tired and moved from the parish a few years ago.

Ath­let­ics train­ing con­tin­ues ev­ery Mon­day at 7 p.m. in the Aughrim com­mu­nity sports field and com­plex. All chil­dren are wel­come from school go­ing age and up­wards.

AGM NO­TICE – Please note our AGM takes place this Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 9, at 8.30 p.m. in the Aughrim com­mu­nity sports field and com­plex. Ev­ery­body is very wel­come. We en­cour­age as many par­ents that can to come along even to lis­ten to what com­mu­nity game is about. It cov­ers over 40 dif­fer­ent events both cul­tural and sport so some­thing for ev­ery­one.


Re­sults for Septem­ber 30. No win­ners. Numbers drawn were 1, 15, 25 and 28. Jack­pot now €4,350. Draw is held in Sal­tee on Mon­day night.


The Brickx Club and Krafty Kidz Art Club are tak­ing book­ings for a Hal­loween camp in An­nacurra Com­mu­nity Hall. Book now to se­cure a place over midterm. Dates: Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 29, to Fri­day, Novem­ber 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. Cost €50. Ages three to 12 years.

Class iss back on Wed­nes­days in An­nacurra Com­mu­nity Hall from 4.30 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. Cost: €25 per month (monthly fees only). Age group: five to 12 years.

Begin­ners’ class is back on Wed­nes­day morn­ings from 11 a.m. to mid­day in An­nacurra Com­mu­nity Hall. Cost €80 for eight-week block. Class suitable for adults of all ages.

Tai Chi and Qi Gong helps to re­lieve stress, in­crease stamina, im­prove bal­ance and pre­vent falls. It also helps to in­crease flex­i­bil­ity and mo­bil­ity and has many other health ben­e­fits.
