£527,777 Lotto winners keeps it quiet

Mystery still surrounds the identity of the Lotto winner who finished the year on a high note by collecting a cheque for £527,777 on Monday at lunchtime after purchasing the winning ticket in Baltinglas­s.

Speculatio­n intensifie­d in west Wicklow during the early part of the week after the winner, who chose t remain anonymous, was announced as a married mother of five children who had bought her ticket in Baltinglas­s.

The lucky lady would only admit to being from ‘the Wicklow area’, leaving even the belief that she was from west Wicklow with a question mark over it.

While collecting the cheque, she told Lotto officials that she intends to spend the money on her family, investing her windfall to provide security in the future.

But she said that some of the money would definitely be spent on a holiday and on changing the families car.

‘I know people talk about having systems but I was in such a rush on the day that I literally ran into the shop, wrote down 12 numbers, paid the pound and ran out again.

‘I could not believe it when I found out that I had won,’ the newly wealthy lady commented as she looked
