Grand finale quiz night

A REMINDER that the biggest quiz of the year will take place tonight Wednesday, March 7, in the newly refurbished Grand Hotel in Wicklow town.

After six months of weekly quiz nights organised by Wicklow and District Lions Club, which have been extremely popular for over close to three decades, the grand final will take place tonight starting at 8.30 p.m..

This is the night when the local Lions Club calls on the support of all the clubs schools and charity organisations which the club supports throughout the season to come along in huge numbers for this wonderful evening of knowledge and entertainment .

The chairperson of the quiz committee Una Breslin is hoping after days of cabin fever that everyone will make a big effort to come along for this major fundraising event.

The club quiz due to take place last Wednesday night, February 28, had to be postponed because of the bad weather. It will now take place on Wednesday, March 14, at Wicklow Golf Club. The beneficiaries will be Nolan House, Educate Together, Nun’s Cross National School and Ashford Beekeepers.

As it stands, the Neiland family so far is top of the quiz league and it will take a team of very bright sparks to knock them off the top.

Wicklow and District Lions Club is a non profit organisation where members donate their time to the goals and causes of the Club without personal reward. The quizzes have been taking place for over 25 years.
