SHILLELAGH

-

The Junior ‘A’ football team made the long journey to Kilcoole on Saturday last to lock horns with the home side in Division 3 of the football league. Hoping to continue their impressive start to the season during which they secured wins away to Newcastle and home to Enniskerry and Aughrim, alas no joy for the lads on this occasion as they found the Kilcoole challenge a bridge to far.

An opportunity to get the feet back in the stirrups presents itself on Saturday next, April 14, when St. Pats are the visitors to the Fairgreen.

Throw in is at 5pm. Do come along and support the team.

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY - Our annual golf classic will take place on Sunday June 3rd.(B/H Weekend) in Coolattin G/C.

Tommy Murphy won the promoters prize, the next draw with the jackpot at €2,300 will take place on Monday, April 16, in Kenny’s Central House.

JUVENILE NEWS

The under-13 Coolkenno/Shillelagh combination St. Mary’s had their first outing of the season on Monday last, April 9 when they entertained Tinahely in Coolkenno.

Match report in next week’s notes. Our under-11 team’s fixture away to Barndarrig on Friday last unfortunately fell victim to unseasonable weather. Training for under-7 and under-9 panels suffered the same fate.

Hopefully elements on Friday next will be more condusive to outdoor activity and will allow coaching for under-7, 9 and 11 panels to go ahead on the Fairgreen from 7 to 8 pm.

Juvenile member registration for 2018 will take place in the clubhouse at the Fairgreen in conjunction with coaching session, Registration cost is 20 Euro per Child capped at a maximum of 50 Euro for a family of three or more.
