CATTLE SALE MAY 2- The cattle sale at baltinglass mart was met with a brisk trade. Quality lots of cattle in demand by farmers with grass growth slowly improving. Heifers making up to €2.70/KG for lighter stores, with heavier heifers making up to €2.40/KG.
Freisan type bullocks making from €1.90-€2.10/KG. The show type bullocks proving easier to sell making up to €2.70/ KG.
Fat continental type bulls making €2.30/KG with fat cows coming in at €1.90/KG. Sample prices as follows.

SHEEP SALE MAY 5–Baltinglass mart sheep sales was met with a complete clearance. A great farmer demand was seen for ewes with lambs at foot as grass growth improves. Hoggots have improved by €1-€2/ head making up to €2.90/KG.
Full mouth ewes with single lambs at foot making up to €200/head. Sample prices as follows.
