An Arklow resident was prosecuted for not having up to date motor tax on the van he was driving at Raheenagurren East in Gorey in May of last year.

The case against Joseph McCarthy (40) from 6 Chestnut Grove in Arklow went ahead at Gorey District Court last Thursday in the absence of the accused. The judge was told that a postal fine had prompted no payment by McCarthy before he was convicted and fined€300.
