Wicklow Cosy Homes Ltd sponsored the Bridge Prizes for the largest Tournament of the year at Wicklow Sailing Club in aid of The Round Ireland Festival which is due to take place at the end of June at Wicklow Sailing Club.

The Royal Bridge Club, which is Wicklow Town’s largest bridge club, played host to an 18 table tournament with directors, Phyllis Kavanagh and Dolores Heatley. Kieran O’Grady (treasurer of WSC) compliment­ed the Royal Bridge for their support to the forthcomin­g local event and thanked all the bridge members for turning out in such high numbers on the night.

The club then presented WSC with the sum of €1,135.

The winners were North South. first Berni Hamilton and Eileen Sheehen, second Robert Doyle and Tony Decourcy, third Una Ryan and Una McGowan.

East West winners were first Margaret Redmond and Maria Kerr, second Joe Heaslip and Jack McElhinney, third Dorothy and Eric Levingston.

For those who didn’t win in Bridge, there were a large number of raffle prizes and a special thank you to those who donated prizes to the raffle. The Royal Bridge Club will continue with summer Bridge on Wednesday nights at 8pm sharp. Prize giving for the league results on Monday nights took place on April 30, Joe Kelly was a clear winner followed by Robert Doyle in 2nd place and joint third were Michael and Nell.
