CARTOON FESTIVAL

We need your help for the Rathdrum International Cartoon Festival which takes place over the June Bank Holiday Weekend. A public meeting is being held at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16 (tonight) in the Corner House Lounge. We need volunteers for all aspects of the festival, stewarding, helping at workshops, exhibition set-up etc. Please join us, let us know where you can assist.

The Blood Clinic will visit Rathdrum on June 20. The last blood clinic was cancelled due to the snow conditions so hopefully there will be a good turn out on June 20. For details of eligibility etc please check out the website giveblood.ie bingo.

Bingo continues as normal every Friday evening at 8.30 p.m. in the RDA Hall, with great prizes. Tourist Office.

The Tourist Office cabin was moved a short distance in the Market Square during the week as building work progresses. The future location of the Tourist Office is unknown at the present time and the RDA will keep you all updated.

A large group of 50 walkers turned out last week for the slightly changed version of the Derrybawn Loop A fine evening helped matters and it was hugely enjoyed by all. Thanks to Ann Savage for leading last week. This week takes us to Ballinderry for a start at 7.10. We would ask that as many as possible would meet in the Memorial Park for 7 p.m. and travel to the start from there. This because of the limited parking at the usual walk start.

Kilaveney Parish annual pilgrimage to Knock Shrine will take place on Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1.
