Pupils earn their sixth Green Flag
THE students of Our Lady’s National School in Rathdrum have been working hard over the past two years to attain the school’s sixth Green Flag.
Holly Doyle and Robyn Curran from the Green Schools Committee recently received the flag from representatives of An Taisce at an awards ceremony in the Helix in Dublin.
Our Lady’s School received the flag for Global Citizenship: Litter and Waste.
Cathriona Tyrrell, Green Schools Co-ordinator said: ‘We have been working on this theme for the past two years learning about things like fair trade, about where our waste goes, about the impact we have on the lives of people in other countries. Last week we held a culture day in the school as part of this program.’
