Happy campers head for gymnastics club

-

A number of gymnastics summer camps will be taking place in Wicklow town over the coming weeks.

It is the 10th anniversary of the summer camps run by Wicklow Gymnastics Club. They always prove very popular so booking is essential.

The camps take place Monday to Friday on July 16, July 23, July 30 and August 13 in Fatima Hall, Dominican College. It should be noted that no camp takes place during the week of August 6.

The camps are suitable for 3 to 5 year olds from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and for children aged 6 and upwards from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m..

The summer camps in Wicklow are all run by professional coaches who are all ex or current gymnasts. The camps always prove to be great fun for all, from the absolute beginner up to the very aspiring gymnast. The caps will cover disciplines such as cover floor, vault, bars, beam, trampoline and air floor for basic tumbling skills

Camps are licensed by Gymnastics Ireland and all participants are registered with them for summer membership. All coaches are Garda Vetted

Wicklow and Rathdrum Gymnastics club were competing in the Gymnastics Ireland National Super Series Finals for both Gymnastics and Trampoline last Saturday. There were superb performances with Alannah finishing third, Olivia second and Kaila first on Vault, and Alannah also won gold on floor. In trampoline Sadhbh won two silver and Erin a bronze.
