Kevin to present his new show ‘Cassowary’ in Dublin

-

A WICKLOW town actor and musician is about to embark on his most ambitious project to date as he presents his own satirical musical folk tale to a Dublin audience.

Kevin Olohan will present ‘Cassowary’ in the Theatre Upstairs at Eden Quay in the city centre from next week.

Cassowary tells the story of an Irish folk musician named Roman O Talún, who has a fear of birds. In an effort to overcome this fear, he goes on a journey into the Australian rainforest in pursuit of a Cassowary, the world’s most dangerous bird.

Written by Kevin, a graduate of the Lir Academy at Trinity College and the son of Jackie and Sean Olohan, the show is based on his experiences growing up as a musician in Wicklow town and his time touring around Australia and also features a number of songs.

The show is directed by Aindrias de Staic and there will be previews at 7 p.m. on Saturday, No- vember 10, and Monday, November 12. Tickets for these are €10.50 or €8.50 for students/over 65s.

The show officially opens on Tuesday, November 13, and runs until Saturday, November 24, at 7 p.m. each night. There are also matinee shows on Wednedays and Saturdays at 1 p.m. Tickets for these cost €12.50 or €10.50 for students/over 65s.
