Ashford locals invited to Heaney screening

-

IN recognition of Seamus Heaney’s close connection to Glanmore, the National Library of Ireland has invited the community of Ashford and district to a private screening of the biographical film, ‘Out of the Marvellous’.

Glanmore was the renowned poet’s ‘much loved place of writing’.

After viewing the film, the Ashford guests will then go on a guided tour of the Heaney exhibition ‘Listen Now Again’ taking place at the Bank of Ireland Cultural and Heritage Centre on College Green.

The special tour takes place on Friday, November 23. Between 10.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m., there will be light refreshments at the Ashford Community and Heritage Centre. A private coach will leave Ashford at 11.45 a.m. It will depart for home from College Green at 3.30 p.m.

The cost per person is €10, including refreshments and transportation. Admission to the film and exhibition is free.

Seats can be booked by writing your name and contact number on an envelope (to include the subscription) and dropping this into the centre, (mornings only). Alternatively, call Sheila Clarke on (087) 9660537.
