Swimmers’ gift for Wicklow RNLI
MEMBERS of Wicklow Swimming Club were recent visitors to Wicklow Lifeboat Station and they came bearing a gift.
Niall Jameson, Ruth O’Neill and Ann Corcoran of Wicklow Swimming Club dropped into the Lifeboat Station on Sunday morning to present a cheque for €1,000 for the local RNLI.
The donation was graciously accepted on behalf of the RNLI by Lifeboats Operations Manager Des Davitt. ‘This donation is much appreciated by our volunteer crew and will allow us to continue to save lives at sea into the future,’ commented Mr Davitt.
Wicklow Swimming Club’s three chosen charities for 2018 were Wicklow RNLI, Wicklow Meals on Wheels and the Blue Dolphins.
