Prospective school patrons submit interest

-

PHASE one of patronage process for a new primary school in the Kilcoole, Newtownmountkennedy area closed on Monday for any bodies wishing to apply to run the school.

The new school will consist of eight-classrooms and is expected to open in 2019.

Prospective patrons had to complete an application form available on the Department of Education website. The forms will be inputed into a new online system and will provide key information to parents and guardians in expressing a preference.

The next step will be the Online Patronage Process System (OPPS) which has been developed to provide objective information to all parents and guardians which will allow them to make an informed choice in deciding on a preference for their preferred model of patronage, including their preference for their child to be educated through the medium of Irish or English.
