THERE was great excitement at Bray Institute of Further Education on Saturday as the 2018 graduation took place at the college’s campus.

Conferring took place over two sittings, the first one during which students received their awards in a range of disciplines including Art, Design, Acting, Dance, Sound Recording,

Music Production, Music Performance, DJ Techniques, TV and Film, Game Design, Computing, Sport, Soccer, Business, Tourism, Professional Cookery, Accounting Technician and Security Studies were presented.

The second ceremony took place later that afternoon where awards such as Nursing, Community Care, Holistic Health, Hairdressing, Nails, Beauty, Early Childhood Care & Education, Animal Care, Science – Pre University, Psychology, Forensics, Engineering and Administration were presented.

There was a great turnout on the day with over 800 people attending the ceremony.

‘We are delighted to have so many graduating this year as we celebrate over 30 years of serving the Wicklow, Wexford, Kildare and Greater Dublin area,’ said deputy principal Gabriel Allen. ‘In the improving economic climate, having a Level 5/level 6 Certificate, Diploma or Higher National Diploma award remains a prerequisite to finding meaningful employment, irrespective of location. These awards are portable and their quality is recognised internationally which gives the graduate every opportunity of success. Graduates also have the opportunity to gain advanced entry onto higher education degree courses and in some instances complete an honours degree with one extra year of study in Higher Education Institutes,’ he said.
