Noeleen Redmond and Margaret Bolger took first place for North/ South on Friday, November 23 and joint second and third were Molly Byrne, Rachel Judd, Seamus Kennedy and Padraig Gleeson. Maria Magee and Rowena Brady were first for East/ West. Second were Marian Davis and Teresa Leahy and in third Kitty Heslin and Miriam Coyle. On Friday, November 30, Ger Lenihan and Paddy O’Brien were first for North/South. Second were Liz Belton and Phil Kenna and in third Teresa Leahy and Marion Davis. First for East/West once again were Maria Magee and Rowena Brady. Second were Nancy O’Brien and Catherine McGillycud­dy and in third Bridie Nolan and Maura Gaskin. Members please note Prize Presentati­on time is here once again and will take place on Friday, December 14. Hannah and Sophie Kennedy at the switching on of the Christmas lights in Rathdrum. THE annual St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Tournament at Wicklow Tennis Club takes place on Monday, December 10 at 7.30 p.m.. This event is always very well supported by club members with every cent raised going directly to the local St. Patrick’s Conference. The finals of the Cullen Butcher Turkey Tournament take place this Friday night, December 7, when the club will be welcoming Maurice Kenny from Cullen Butchers to present the prizes after the matches which start at 7 p.m.

Well done to the ladies and men’s first teams who both reached the finals of the Floodlight League last week. Unfortunat­ely both teams lost out to David Lloyd and Trinity respective­ly but gave a great account of themselves and have gained promotion for next year.

The Christmas Junior Party takes place on Sunday, December 16, and will involve a fun tennis tournament­s as well as a family table quiz.
