Noeleen Red­mond and Mar­garet Bol­ger took first place for North/ South on Fri­day, Novem­ber 23 and joint sec­ond and third were Molly Byrne, Rachel Judd, Sea­mus Kennedy and Padraig Glee­son. Maria Magee and Rowena Brady were first for East/ West. Sec­ond were Mar­ian Davis and Teresa Leahy and in third Kitty Hes­lin and Miriam Coyle. On Fri­day, Novem­ber 30, Ger Leni­han and Paddy O’Brien were first for North/South. Sec­ond were Liz Bel­ton and Phil Kenna and in third Teresa Leahy and Mar­ion Davis. First for East/West once again were Maria Magee and Rowena Brady. Sec­ond were Nancy O’Brien and Cather­ine McGil­ly­cuddy and in third Bri­die Nolan and Maura Gaskin. Mem­bers please note Prize Pre­sen­ta­tion time is here once again and will take place on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 14. Han­nah and So­phie Kennedy at the switch­ing on of the Christ­mas lights in Rath­drum. THE an­nual St. Vin­cent de Paul Christ­mas Tour­na­ment at Wick­low Ten­nis Club takes place on Mon­day, De­cem­ber 10 at 7.30 p.m.. This event is al­ways very well sup­ported by club mem­bers with every cent raised go­ing di­rectly to the lo­cal St. Patrick’s Con­fer­ence. The fi­nals of the Cullen Butcher Tur­key Tour­na­ment take place this Fri­day night, De­cem­ber 7, when the club will be wel­com­ing Mau­rice Kenny from Cullen Butch­ers to present the prizes af­ter the matches which start at 7 p.m.

Well done to the ladies and men’s first teams who both reached the fi­nals of the Flood­light League last week. Un­for­tu­nately both teams lost out to David Lloyd and Trin­ity re­spec­tively but gave a great ac­count of them­selves and have gained pro­mo­tion for next year.

The Christ­mas Ju­nior Party takes place on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 16, and will in­volve a fun ten­nis tour­na­ments as well as a fam­ily ta­ble quiz.
