Ethna Neiland and John Mulqueen are the newest members of Wicklow and District Lions Club.

They were both made very welcome by all members at their induction ceremony on Wednesday last and presented with their official Lions badge by President Pat O’Brien who sincerely welcomed Ethna and John.

Wicklow’s Abbey Grounds will be transformed this month for the festive season.

The Christmas Market will take place on the weekends of December 8 and 9, December 15 and 16 and December 22 between 12 noon and 6 p.m.

In addition to the plentiful selection of local artisan foods, decorations, gifts and workshops, there will be an abundance of fun and sparkly activities to get young and old into the Christmas mood.

There will also be the opportunity to visit Santa in his magical Grotto.

To add a little extra touch of excitement and Christmas cheer, the committee have organised a number of musical and entertainment bookings to dazzle the senses, along with a magical family funfair within the historical Abbey Grounds.

These markets promise to be an event to remember and there is plenty of parking nearby.

This is a non-ticketed event, so anyone and everyone is welcome to attend and browse through our stalls and treatfilled venue. This is a wheelchair and buggy friendly event.
