Pierce Turner set to play at the Hot Spot
PIERCE TURNER is set to perform at the Hot Spot music venue in Greystones on Friday, December 7.
Pierce Turner, formerly voted solo performer of the year by a panel of Irish critics, has returned from New York City, where he now lives, to perform another series of his famous Parlour performances this December.
Described as ‘a cross between David Bowie and Joni Mitchell’, the accolades for the international Irish artist far outweigh his commercial success, but not his reputation and achievements. Anyone who has seen his powerful live performance can attest to that.
Fans of ‘The Wire’ may recognise Turner’s innovative version of ‘Dirty Old Town’ from the series soundtrack, and Turner has played with Patty Smith and Iggy Pop at Carnegie Hall.
Expect the Hot Spot to be packed and hopping on Friday. And on the same coast, his home town of Wexford at Green Acres in Selskar,on December 28.
