Marah pounces for a late winner for Rovers LEAGUE TABLES

Ashford Rovers got their first league win on the board when they travelled to the Back Alley to face Carnew AFC and came away with a 2-1 victory in their Andy McEvoy Premier Division game on Sunday.
The visitors took an early lead when Andy Earls closed down the Carnew goalkeeper, whose attempted clearance ricocheted off the striker and into the net.
Carnew got back on level terms ten minutes before the break, when John Kavanagh got on the end of a free-kick and finished from close range.
It looked like the points would be shared but Kian Marah grabbed the winning goal deep into second-half injury time, when he was quickest to react after Robbie Eyre’s powerful free-kick had been saved.
Leaders St Peter’s are now four points clear at the top of the division after edging out Glencormac 3-2 at Little Bray Community Centre thanks to goals from Noely Stephens, Niall Vaughan and Rian Greene.
The saints were 2-1 ahead at the break, with Josh O’Callaghan hitting the back of the net for Glencormac.
Peter’s extended their advantage to 3-1 after the interval and although O’Callaghan grabbed his second for the Glens they couldn’t force the equaliser.

Greystones United picked up three points on Sunday when they came out on top 3-1 away to Arklow United. Anthony Fermoyle helped himself to a double for the visitors, while Cillian Brosnan got their other goal and Graham Heaney replied for United.
Elsewhere, Wicklow Town edged out Wicklow Rovers 3-2 in a thrilling derby (see focus match).
John Tobin Youth League
Avonmore made a winning start in the John Tobin Youth League when edging out Arklow Town 1-0 at the weekend.
