The crowd were entertained by the Schools choirs and the Avondale Singers before the Parnell Memorial Pipe Band paraded Santa Claus up to the Market Square. The lights of the town were switched on by the winner of the Art Competition Iwin Abraham, who was assisted by Jimmy Olohan.

Congratulations to the raffle winners and to all the girls and boys who took part in the Art Competition. Thanks to everyone who supported the raffle and to our generous sponsors. The town is lit up with new lights and looks amazing.

Thanks also to Mick Byrne, who took centre stage wearing his gold medal won at the five Nations Cross Country in Wales recently. Thanks to the committee and all who helped set up the lights and organise the evening for all the girls and boys.
