HISTORY SOCIETY

The next meeting of the Enniskerry History Society, which meets under the guidance John Callan, society president, will take place at 8.30 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, in the Powerscour­t Arms and Country House Hotel at which Carmel Cullen will present her lecture ‘The History of Delia Murphy’, one of Ireland’s most famous singers – all welcome, admission €5.

Members and Supporters of the Enniskerry Society are also reminded that the Old Bray Society has published a special limited issue of the Bray Historical Record – ‘First World War Special Issue’ which recalls those from the county who took part in this conflict. COTTAGE MARKET

The cottage market Glenealy located in the Glenealy Garden Centre, takes place every Saturday from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. The market features local and organic vegetables, freshly baked breads, cakes and savouries, as well as jams, chutneys and tarts. Locally produced wild honey is on offer as are healthy Aloe products. Beautiful wood turned pieces, artisan gifts such as delicate dried flower crafts, tea, coffee and healthy snacks are also available. So come along, support local Wicklow producers and enjoy the atmosphere in our little cottage market. New stall holders are always welcome.

GAA BINGO

The next GAA bingo will be in Glenealy Village Hall on Sunday, December 9, at 3 p.m. Great cash prizes to be won. Hope to see you there and bring a friend.

PILATES CLASSES

Gymboree play and music classes every Tuesday mornings at 11 a.m. in Glenealy Village Hall. suitable for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers from six months – four years. SATURDAYS PLAYGROUP

HISTORY SOCIETY LECTURE

The annual Glencormac United Christmas Draw is here and tickets are selling fast thanks to all the loyal supporters who without fail, support this draw every year.

First Prize is €2,000 with €1,000 for second and €500 for third prize with five Prizes of €100 each also available. The draw will take place this Saturday, December 8, in Plucks and limited to 500 tickets with very few now left are at €20 from club members.

This is the main fundraiser for the club each year to cover the cost of Academy, six Underage teams and senior team and the club rely on the support of you all. It is also the Christmas night out for the parents of all the club’s little superstars..
