PARISH SALE OF WORK

Thank you to all organisers of the hugely successful Roundwood & Moneystown Sale of Work which took place last Sunday. As always it was well supported by the great community of Roundwood, Moneystown and beyond.

Thanks to all the volunteers who generously gave over their time on Sunday and in the run up to the event and also to the local businesses who come up trumps every time with generous raffle prizes and financial donations. It was great to see Santa back again who, despite his busy schedule, took great time with every child. Well done all.

CANCER SUPPORT

Roundwood Cancer Support are excited to announce that their centre will be open on Saturday, December 15, after 6 p.m. Mass in the Parish Centre. They are now looking for volunteers to drive patients to their treatments in the various hospitals. If you are interested please contact Roundwood Cancer Support at 087 6062072.

PROGRESSIV­E 45

Progressiv­e 45 card game in aid of the Parish Sale Of Work Sunday, December 9, at 7 p.m. in the Roundwood Parish Hall. Refreshmen­ts and raffle at the interval excellent cash prizes everyone welcome.

TRIPS

There will be a five-day trip to Slovenia on April 4 to April 9 at a cost of €699 per person sharing. As there are limited places a deposit of €200 is required asap. There will be a tour of Scotland in August/September dates to be decided and a Westport country music break in October 2019 which includes some day trips. BINGO

Next Active Retirement Bingo will be in Annamoe Centre on Sunday, December 16, at 3 p.m.

LUNCH

The next Active Retirement lunch will be in the Coach House on Friday, December 14, at 1.30 p.m.

CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHT UP

Get your Santa hats and jumpers ready in Roundwood and Moneystown as the Christmas tree lights will be turned on in the village and everyone is invited to come along to make it a special community event to mark the start of the Christmas festivitie­s. The lights will be switched after 6 p.m. Mass (circa 6.45 p.m.) on Saturday, December 8, in the grounds of Roundwood Garda Station. Festive refreshmen­ts will be available afterwards in the Parish Hall.

SET DANCE NIGHT

A set dancing Christmas party night will take place on Friday, December 7, in the Mill room, Kilcoole with music by Templemich­ael ceili band. Refreshmen­ts served on the night.

ANNAMOE BOWLS

Annamoe bowls continues on Tuesday night and all newcomers are very welcome. So why not come along and give it a try.

STORY TELLING

The story house will take placein Annamoe Centre on Friday, December 14, at 8 p.m.

DIAMOND BRIDGE CLUB

First place for North/South on Monday, November 26, were Molly Byrne and Rachel Judd, second Maria Magee and Judy Skates, third Paddy O’Brien and Margaret Bolger and fourth John Loscher and Marie Kavanagh. Ger Lenihan, Rowena Brady, Nancy O’Brien and Catherine Halligan shared first place for East West third Mary Pierce and Pamela Byrne and fourth Pádraig Gleeson and Séamus Kennedy.

002 BRIDGE

Noeleen Redmond and Margaret Bolger took first place for North/South on Friday, November 23, and joint second/ third Molly Byrne, Rachel Judd, Séamus Kennedy and Pádraig Gleeson. Maria Magee and Rowena Brady were first for East/ West, second Marian Davis and Teresa Leahy and third Kitty Heslin and Miriam Coyle.

On Friday, November 30, Ger Lenihan and Paddy O’Brien were first for North/South, second Liz Belton and Phil Kenna and third Teresa Leahy and Marion Davis. First for East/West once again were Maria Magee and Rowena Brady, second Nancy O’Brien and Catherine McGillycud­dy and third Bridie Nolan and Maura Gaskin.

Members please note Prize Presentati­on time is here once again and will take place on Friday, December 14.

Set dancing in Kavanagh’s every Thursday night from nine till 11 p.m.

BADMINTON

Morning badminton has resumed on Tuesday morning from 9.30 p.m.

ROUNDWOOD WHIZZERS.

Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are back in action meeting at 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the Coach House car park. All welcome to walk at your own pace for approximat­ely one hour.

ANGEL HEALING

Angel Healing and Angelic Guidance is back tomorrow evening, Monday, September 3, in the Parish Hall Roundwood at 7.30.

So if you would enjoy an evening of peace relaxation and hands on energy healing join us for a wonderful new experience.

Next Roundwood Parish Hall Dance Friday, December 21, with music by the Wicklow Man.

WHIST

The next whist is this Wednesday, December 5, in the Parish Centre, Roundwood.

LOTTO RESULTS

There was no jackpot winner in last week’s draw. The numbers drawn were 4, 6, 27 and 28. There were three match-three winners Aideen Nolan, Grace Murphy and Ger Kavanagh, Next week’s jackpot will be €23,500.

HOME PRODUCERS MARKET

Roundwood Home Producers Market is open from midday till 5 p.m. every Sunday in the Parish Centre. Come for your home baking, crafts, plants, vegetables and more. New members always welcome or 087 2506785.

CEILI DANCING LESSONS

Adult ceili dancing classes are held every Wednesday night in the parish hall from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Learn to solo dance and also group dances under the tuition of Aoife, Cian and Eimear and have great fun learning.

MONEYSTOWN 45

A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at 8 p.m. Tea served.
