Arklow is open for business

-

ARKLOW is certainly looking spectacular in all its festive glory and the local community has been out and about shopping local and enjoying all the delights the town has to offer. The local traders have been playing a blinder, and shoppers have been enjoying the convenience of free parking in local authority car parks.

It’s worth noting that traffic laws should still be obeyed however. Free parking continues until Tuesday, January 1.

From the Wexford Road and through the town centre to the Bridgewater Centre, there are many local retailers open for business and ready to help you check off your Christmas list in plenty of time and without any stress.

Why not ask about gift-wrapping to save yourself a job once you are back home?

The Christmas Festival market was a roaring success on Saturday and saw the town centre buzzing with Christmas cheer all day long.

There was plenty of entertainment thanks to the carol singers and busking competition contestants and the stall-holders reported a great turnout by customers looking to pick up that special something to place under the tree.

Shopping local is a great way to offer an end of year boost to the local economy and to protect local jobs.

A bustling local trade does wonders for any small town or village and traders certainly appreciate the support from their community.

If you shop local this year, then you could be in with a chance to win a prize in the €5000 Golden Ticket Draw.

Each participating local outlet will send a chosen ticket to the draw which takes place on Tuesday, December 18 at Arklow Library so there’s a great chance of winning the top prize valued at €1500, the silver ticket valued at €750, bronze ticket valued at €500 or one of seven copper tickets.

There’s every reason to shop local this festive season, whether you are in the market for a special gift, a stunning outfit, to get some pre-Christmas beauty treatments or simply to enjoy a delicious meal or coffee and mince pie.

So pop on your Santa hat and pay a visit to Arklow this Christmas season where you won’t be disappointed.
