Rathdrum school in final six for Irish Wildlife Trust Award
ST Saviour’s National School, Rathdrum has been selected as one of the six finalists in the national Irish Wildlife Trust Award.
The Wicklow school is the only finalist in the county and will compete with others schools from across Ireland to claim the award for biodiversity.
For the project, the school created an outdoor classroom as part of its woodland project.
It was created on an area of unused land, which the parents and students restored to create a football pitch, outdoor classroom and playhuts.
Future plans include a sensory garden, sensory path, mud craft, bush craft, vegetable garden.
St Saviour’s NS is asking the Wicklow public to show support and cast votes online to help them secure the award.
