Wicklow run riot away to Naas in Leinster League

WICKLOW RFC’S under-14 girls’ team resumed their Leinster League campaign on Saturday last with a Premier League 1 fixture away to Naas RFC.
The Wicklow girls has played little rugby since early December and they got off to a slow start against the Kildare girls. A couple of early tries got Wicklow off the mark and they lead 19-0 at halftime. Wicklow were missing a number of players due to injury/ illness but still fielded a strong squad of 20 players who all got game time.
Wicklow pushed on in the second half and finished strongly with a 54-5 scoreline.
This was a good start to 2019 with plenty to work on. Next week, Wicklow host league leaders Newbridge RFC.
