PILATES CLASSES

Pilates continues at Aughrim Sports Centre on Tuesday evenings from 5.15 p.m. and 6.30 p.m., and Wednesday morning 10 a.m. all mixed levels. Sixweek course beginning Tuesday, January 8, Please contact Therese at 087 7731106.

GAA NEWS

Congratula­tions to our juvenile players Cameron Byrne, Dermot Toomey and Alex Kavanagh, who have picked for the Wicklow under-14 Football Panel 2019.

Aughrim GAA are in the process of affiliatin­g an adult hurling team this year. ACTIVE RETIREMENT

On behalf of the committee I would like to wish all our members a Happy New Year. Chair yoga is back on January 15 for 3weeks. €15 is due on the day.

TOWN AND COUNTRY MARKET

RAFFLE RESULTS

A big thank you to all who supported our Juvenile Christmas raffle which was a huge success. To all those who sold tickets, bought tickets, sponsored prizes and attended the draw on the night in O’Toole’s the club is very grateful. Congratula­tions to David Sheehy, who won the first prize of an Eoin O’Connor fine art print, second prize Byrnes Londis shopping voucher was won by David and Mags White, and third prize Gift voucher for Brook Lodge and Macreddin village was won by Kelli Mooney. SET DANCING

Set dancing classes resume this Thursday, January 10, at 8.30 p.m. in the Community Hall Aughrim (beside Londis). Paddy and Yvonne are looking forward to welcoming everyone back after the Christmas break. New members are always welcome.

A New six-week mixed level yoga courses commencing week of January 14 in Aughrim Sports Complex.

MIKEL MURFI PLAY FOR CARNEW

Theatre goers will be delighted to hear of an upcoming theatre treat in January. Coláiste Bhríde are delighted to announce that Mikel Murfi will perform his new play ‘I Hear You and Rejoice’, in St Brigid’s Hall Carnew on Thursday, January 31, for one night only.

This play is a sequel to his previous play ‘The Man in the Woman’s Shoes’. He has toured in London, New York and Edinburgh with this new play so it will be great to see him return to our local community.

Tickets will cost €16 each and will include a cheese and wine reception. They can be booked by calling 086 8500607 or calling into the school reception.

Centre opening hours for January are Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Opening Hours will go back to normal opening hours Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on February 4. Closed Bank Holidays and Weekends.

AVOCA BINGO

Every Wednesday Evening at 8.30 p.m. home for Christmas to join his family for the first Christmas in all of those 20 years, and was accompanie­d by his wife Heather and children Nolan and Wiley, and linked up with his parents Bernie and Joe, and siblings Joanne, Sarah, Una, Ciaran, Joseph, Owen, Grainne, who travelled all the way from Canada, and Meabh.

The whole family celebrated Niall’s 40th birthday on Christmas Day as a big family occasion, which was very much enjoyed by all involved. Niall has returned home to the USA, and we wish him and his family continued success in his adopted country.
