Wilson named as contact

-

WICKLOW GAA Chairman Martin Fitzgerald told delegates at last week’s fixtures meeting that the communication difficulties experienced by clubs last year would not happen this year as Paul Wilson from Hollywood GAA Club was the only contact if clubs ran into bother with fixtures.

‘I wish the new committee the best of luck. Judging from the review we had last year, and we had a meeting in October, it’s been very positive (regarding fixtures). What we have agreed is to work on the review that happened last year, there are going to be very little change. But we don’t forget one thing, the CCC has to work with 36 or 37 clubs so your club is not the only club the county so just think of that. We have agreed that there will be no chances. What is agreed here tonight is agreed and that’s that.

‘Everyone complained a little bit at the end of the year about communication. There’s only one communication person this year, and that’s Paul Wilson, whether it’s email, phone calls or whatever else.

‘Hopefully there won’t be any phone calls because there will be no changes, that’s what we have agreed for the year ahead. There’ll be no changes for the year ahead unless there is a sudden death in the family belonging to a player or a relative. That’s the way it’s going to go, so, when the fixtures come out, that’s it.

‘I’d like to wish the incoming committee and all the clubs the best of luck for the rest of the year,’ he added.
