KILTEGAN DRAMA

Kiltegan Drama will present ‘Happy Birthday Dear Alice’ by Bernard Farrell in St Tegan’s Hall, KIltegan over two weekends in February. The opening performance will take place on Friday, February 8, with all proceeds ffrom that night being divided between Scoil Naomh Brid, Talbotstown and Tynock National School. Tickets are available from the schools or from parents.

The proceeds from the performance on Saturday, February 9, will go towards Kiltegan National School, and tickets are available from the Hub, or Charlotte at 085 1615689, or Kiltegan School. Other performance proceeds will go towards Kiltegan Hall, the drama group and Beaumont Hospital and it is not necessary to book tickets, as you can pay at the door.

This production is by Juliana Garahy. This is a very topical story focusing on the efforts of a dispersed, dysfunctional suburban family to commit their ageing, gentle, yet resilient mother to the uncertain fate of a nursing home.

RATHDANGAN DRAMA

10=A0 a.m. The classes will be suitable for complete beginners or those more advanced. The classes are about strengthening all the muscles and joints that we often neglect. A play area is also present if you have a toddler you would like to bring along. Classes will be €49 for six weeks, progressing onto more intense classes. This will ease you back into exercising on a regular basis. For more information, or to book a place, phone Sarah at 087 0627563.

RAMBLER’S SEISUN

The next Ramblers Seisun takes place in O’Toole Memorial Hall on Friday, February=A015. This is a great night of song, music, stories and laughter.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Tinahely ICA held their guild meeting on January 21. Helen McDonnell Presided over the meeting for Kathleen Byrne, president, as she is still recovering and we wish her a speedy recovery. Secretary Breda Murphy read correspondence from head office and we arranged our meetings for the next three months.

We are having Jim Callery from the Department of Environment Wicklow County Council at our next meeting on February 18, to talk about recycling; our completion for that night is a garden on a plate.

Madge Kenny and Eileen Doran gave a report on the Drama festival in Glenealy, which was a great success. Congratulations to the ICA Ladies, who worked hard at putting on a great festival.

Our evening closed with Mary O’Connor winning our competition and a lovely supper supplied by Breda Murphy and Helen McDonnel.
