John Tobin Youths Shield

Wicklow Town turned on the style in their opening outing in the John Tobin Youths Shield as they emphatically overcame Avonmore FC 4-0.

Nicky Flood scored a hat-trick for Town, with Cian Kelly also getting in on the act.

Alan Merrigan, Jack Kavanagh and Cian McLoughlin got the goals for Arklow Town in their 3-2 triumph over Ashford Rovers, with Oisin Hill replying with a double.

Elsewhere, goals from Cian McBride and Trevor Fitzgerald had Arklow United 2-0 up against Wicklow Rovers, but Rovers fought back for a draw, with Thomas O’Neill and Paul Marah hitting the back of the net.
