THE latest local groups set to benefit from the Tesco Community Fund have been announced.

Over the next six weeks, shoppers in Arklow will have the choice of supporting St Saviours NS, Scoil San Eoin and St John’s Senior NS, while Wicklow customers can get behind Wicklow Badminton Club, 4th Wicklow Sea Scouts and Hillview Wobblers Parent And Toddler Group.

In both Tesco Bray and Tesco Bray Express, shoppers will have a choice of Bray COPD, Living Life Counselling and Bray Horizons.

Greystones customers can lend their support to Down Syndrome Wow Club, Irish Society For Autism and Gaelscoil Na gCloch Liatha while, in Kilcoole, St Anthony’s Boys FC, Kilcoole Cardiac First Responders and Sporting Greystones FC are set to benefit.

The community fund gives customers the power to choose who Tesco will support by placing blue tokens given out at the tills into the box belonging to the group or charity of their choice. And at the end of each phase, blue token votes are counted and up to €1,000 is shared proportionally between the three local causes.

In Wicklow alone, the Tesco Community Fund has supported 465 local projects to date donating over €155,000 since 2014.

Every eight weeks, customers are invited to fill out a form in-store to nominate a group they’d like to see supported with three local causes then being selected for the fund.
