Exceptional trading at latest Carnew sale

THERE was some exceptional trade at Carnew’s 38th annual fatstock show and sale with 1,170 heifers and cows on offer. The demand was driven by Northern Ireland factories and wholesalers as well as exporters.

The champion was Pat and Aaron Whelan from Baltinglass with their Belgian Blue heifer, weighing in at 724 kg which sold for €2,170 to Dolan’s exporters.

The show and sale event had a great attendance with people coming from across Ireland and beyond to see what was on offer.
