Sympathy is extended to Breda Miley and family o the death of Breda’s brother Ed Boylan. Ed’s funeral took place in Blessingto­n. May he rest in peace.

QUIZ RESULTS

Baltinglas­s Credit Union recently held their annual Credit Union School Quiz and what a turn out it was. 136 Students battled it out for two hours in a thrilling search to crown ‘The power of 4’ Credit Union School Quiz champions.

The winning team in the under-11 age group was Scoil Diarmada, Castlederm­ot while Scoil Nioclais Naofa, Dunlavin and Scoil Naomh Iosaf, Baltinglas­s received runner-up prizes. In the under-13 age group, Scoil Diarmada received first place, while Scoil Naomh Iosaf and Tinahely NS received runner-up. A huge congratula­tions to all teams.

CULTURE BUS

The culture bus will leave Dunlavin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, to travel to Dublin. Some tickets are still available for the Cripple of Inishmann in the Gaiety Theatre. This is an opportunit­y to visit many of the wonderful

CALL FOR PAPERS

2019 is to be another West Wicklow Historical Society Journal year, and we hope to publish issue 10 sometime in the autumn DV. As you may already know, our journal also accepts articles regarding neighbouri­ng parts of counties Kildare, Carlow and Dublin, particular­ly if the subject matter impinges into West Wicklow.

If you would like to contribute a paper, have students who might like to submit a suitable essay or know of anyone who would like to contribute an article, please let us know. SCOIL NIOCLÁIS NAOFA

Applicatio­ns are now being accepted for enrolment to our junior infants class for this coming September. Applicatio­ns can be made online via our school website snndunlavi­n.com but a full enrolment form will need to be completed and these forms are available from the office.

Any parents wishing to visit the school or who may have enquiries are more than welcome to drop in at any stage in the coming weeks and no appointmen­t is required.

FRIENDSHIP CLUB

The friendship club meet every Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the parish centre. New members always welcome.

TD John Brady will hold a clinic in Dunlavin parish centre on the second Monday of each month from 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

USED POSTAGE STAMPS

Please keep your used postage stamps for St Patrick’s Missions, Kiltegan, who can use them to fundraise. Used stamps can be dropped into the parish office any time. Thank you to all who have donated stamps throughout the past year.

The Doctor’s Clinic will be held on the first and third Thursday of each month from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
