Litter offence

An Arklow man charged with dumping litter down a lane in the town was fined at local District Court on Wednesday.

Noel Power of 2 The Green, Meadowvale, was charged with committing the offence on January 23, 2018, after the local authority discovered evidence relating to him in a bag of rubbish dumped down Condren’s Lane in Arklow.

The court heard that seven bags were dumped. Power’s details were in one of the bags but the court was not holding him responsible for dumping all the material found.

A fine of €300 was imposed and he was ordered to pay costs of €450.
