Whale Women’s Day

A HOST OF creative ladies will be heading to Greystones for a special event to mark Internatio­nal Women’s Day.

The Whale Theatre will be holding an evening of comedy, music, singing, poetry and prose as it celebrates women of all kinds on Friday, March 8.

Among those who will take to the stage are blogger and author Kate Gunn, jazz vocalist Anita Malzone, poet and spoken word performer Bernie D’Arcy, writer Olivia Fitzsimons, spoken word performer Claudia Crampton, comedian and writer Tara Calihman, vocalist Lesley-Ann Whelan, comedian Louise O’Toole, vocal harmony group Legato Singers and vocalist Ann McInery.

The show begins at 8 p.m. on March 8, with doors open from 7 p.m. Tickets cost €14/€12 from the Whale Theatre.

Half of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Bray Women’s Refuge.
