ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Annual drama in Rathangan is on Friday, February 22, bus will depart Aughrim at 6.45 p.m. Tickets are €10 plus bus fare. Every Monday we meet in Aughrim for a short walk and coffee afterwards in Lawless’ Hotel. Everyone is very welcome to come along. Yoga is on again next Tuesday at 10.30 a.m.

The numbers 8, 11, 15 and 18 were drawn in this week’s Aughrim Sports club lotto February 11 match-three winners were May O’Neill, Majella O’Shea, The O’loughlin family, Tinakilly and Gerry Keogh, The Gap. The jackpot was not won. The jackpot now is €5,700.

INTRODUCTI­ON TO YOGA

An ‘Introducti­on to Yoga’ workshop will take place in Aughrim Sports Complex on Sunday, February 24, 10 a.m. to midday This workshop is for anybody who is new to yoga or returning after a long break. CHURCH OF THE SACRED HEART

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6, Mass will be celebrated in church of the Sacred Heart, Aughrim at 7.00.pm. Ashes will be blessed and distribute­d at the Mass.

GAA

Our adult team have their first outing of the year in a home game against Éire Óg next Saturday, February 23, at 3 p.m. Please come along and support these young players as they set out on a new season.

FAMILY CROSS

Planning permission has been obtained to erect a cross and all associated ground work in Jim’s Way, Aughrim. This Cross will commemorat­e the year of the family and the visit of Pope Francis to Ireland in August 2018. If anyone would like to make a donation however great or small it can be given to any of the committee members. The committee members are as follows: Christophe­r Keogh (Kit), Mona Dillon, Willie O’Loughlin, Terry Doyle, Bill Quigley, Teresa Byrne (Londis), Kay Leeson and Hugh Doyle. It is hoped work will begin in March, weather permitting.
