HAPPY 70TH SUSAN

If you could describe people as motor cars, we would have to describe Susan Fox from Upper Calary as a real Rolls Royce. Last weekend, ‘Our Susan’ turned 70 years young and we would all like to wish her a very happy birthday on this milestone. Be it looking after everyone in her beloved Kilmac GAA Club, been a proud committee member and volunteer with our senior citizens or supporting every organisation or fundraiser in this village, you will always see Susan to the fore.

Despite losing her wonderful husband Johnny Fox many years ago, Susan has devoted her life to her family and looking after everyone else but delighted to report last week it was the turn of Susan to be looked after and all I can say is, Susan, you are a remarkable woman loved by us all and best wishes for the 70th and many many more years of birthday celebrations.

TABLE QUIZ

The senior team played local rivals Bray on Sunday morning in Kilmacanogue in week two of the Division 1A League. This fixture pitted brothers Michaél and Diarmuid Masterson against each other with Michael earning the bragging rights in the house after a 2-10 to 15 points victory. Kilmac trailed by five points at the break but put in a superb second half display to just edge a thrilling game. Next Sunday (24th), The team travel to face Éire Óg in Greystones, throw in 11 a.m.

On the junior front, a future date for the diary will be a table quiz for the juvenile section of the club. All money made will go towards the purchasing of new gear and equipment for the future stars and this will take place on Monday, March 11, at 8 p.m. in Plucks in Kilmacanogue. A table of four will cost €40 and to book a team, please contact co-ordinator Jackie Fox at 086 8494655.
