Celebrating volunteerism with awards night
THE Nell Healy People of the Year Awards take place again this year to celebrate volunteerism in Wicklow parish.
Organised by Joe Healy in association with The Rotary Club of Wicklow, the awards provide an opportunity for the people of Wicklow parish to acknowledge individuals and groups or organisations who have made a real difference to their community.
‘I am delighted to be involved again this year as the awards acknowledge volunteerism which is an important aspect of community life in the parish. There are many unsung heroes living in our community and this competition marks the huge contribution that these individuals and groups have made to our community in the past year,’ said Joe Healy.
Accepting a sponsorship cheque from Joe, Donal Magner, Rotary president said: ‘I encourage the community to nominate organisations and individuals for awards in the parish – both Wicklow and Rathnew.’
