Garda advice for re-opening businesses

GARDA Siochana in County Wicklow are offering assistance to businesses as part of the Government plan on the roadmap for opening society and businesses.

The Government guidelines outlines certain criteria that should be adhered to by businesses when considerin­g to re-open.

Sergeant Paul Daly, Crime Prevention Officer for the Wicklow District, offers a few crime prevention pointers to business planning to re-open.

Sgt Daly says: ‘People may be wearing masks now, but be conscious that criminals may be wearing them too. Do not leave valuable stock displayed on shop floor. Do not leave any cash or monies on business’ premises.

‘Consider leaving cash register open and empty at night. Check your business premises security alarm is operating and functional. Also check you have an accurate and updated key holder contact list.’
