New measures in place at tennis club

-

WICKLOW Tennis Club is delighted to back open for its members.

From Monday, May 18, members aged 18 to 69 have been re-kindling their relationship with their rackets and becoming familiar with the new rules and etiquette of the game of tennis.

The club is starting with reduced hours 4 p.m. to9p.m..

In keeping with all the new criteria set out by Tennis Ireland and Government, only members who live within 5km of the club may play for the duration of Phase 1, which lasts until June 7.

There is no access to the clubhouse so no toilet facilities and many members have volunteered for gate duty as every member has to be checked in as per the new court booking system that has been introduced.

There are two hand sanitising stations on entry and exit of the grounds and two spray sanitisers at the back of each court.

A one way traffic flow is in place and court times are staggered with 10 minute intervals so there are no more than four people arriving or leaving at the same time. The club hopes to welcome back junior and over 70’s members next week pending everything going well this week.
