Put off the road for two years
A motorist with a Wicklow address was put off the road for two years as Wexford District Court considered a motor insurance prosecution.
The investigating garda told Judge Brian O’Shea that he encountered Michael O’Brien from 5 St Laurence’s Road, Wicklow, in Tomsilla on July 25 last.
The 26-year-old accused, who did not attend court, was at the wheel of a Tipperary registered Qashqai on which the NCT was not in order.
He failed to produce proof of insurance, incurring a fine of €250 with the two year disqualification.
A further fine of €100 was added to the bill for the problem with the NCT.
