SCRAP METAL

The Brockagh Resource Centre are still accepting scrap metal to raise funds for the Brockagh Centre. Scrap metal can be left at the back of our building for collection.

Some of the items you can bring are biscuit tins, steel oil tanks, steel window frames, steel coal bunkers, radiators, solid fuel cookers, sheep wire, bicycles, old cars without the tyres, wheel barrows, golf irons, etc. No fridges, freezers, cookers, timber, plastics or tyres. SUSTAINABL­E ENERGY ACTION

The Laragh/Glendaloug­h Sustainabl­e Energy Action are currently conducting a survey on Energy Usage which you may be able to assist with. To participat­e in the survey at you can join our Facebook page or go to https:// www.surveymonk­ey.com/r/WXQG7Y2.

The Laragh/Glendaloug­h Sustainabl­e Energy Action is a community/voluntary group of local people set up to increase awareness of the causes and impacts of climate change, and to explore ways that the community can respond.

The group was formed to identify the community’s energy needs, and put in place, sustainabl­e measures that will help improve energy efficiency in their homes, reduce energy costs, and to make their homes more comfortabl­e to live in.

GLENDALOUG­H HERITAGE FORUM

We have just launched our new Glendaloug­h Heritage website at glendaloug­h.wicklowher­itage. org. As members of Our Wicklow Heritage, we invite you to explore our local history collection­s and discover unique articles, photograph­s, documents, oral histories and personal stories.

We are working together to record and make accessible the county’s rich built, natural and cultural heritage. We invite you to participat­e by contributi­ng your informatio­n, stories and photograph­s.

Hope all keeping safe and well as the lockdown continues. Due to the restrictio­ns our next two outings, Coollattin in June and Woodenbrid­ge in July have been cancelled. We’ll be in touch about our Blainroe outing in August, not looking good at the moment. Willie Kenna Captain.

RESERVOIR DAM WALK

The walking trail on the top of the Upper Reservoir Dam is now reserved for vulnerable users and those aged 70+. All other folk are asked to please take the lower trail along the tree line which runs parallel. Thank you for your cooperatio­n.

Our free home medicines delivery service Pharmacy Home Link continues to deliver to those who are in the at risk and vulnerable group.

While services at Calary Church of Ireland cannot take place during the current crisis, the priest in charge Reverend Niall Stratford is doing services on YouTubeeac­hSunday.
