WICKLOW MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK

‘Nature in History - A Biodiversi­ty Challenge’ is up and running! Feel free to join us daily, Saturday 18th to Sunday 26th May at 10am to 4pm. Free of Charge (But please note that there is a €4 parking fee in Glendaloug­h Visitor Centre Carpark.)Location: OPW Visitor Centre and Glendaloug­h Monastic Site. This is a joint event run by the staff of OPW and Wicklow Mountains National Park.

To celebrate Biodiversi­ty Week, join us on our free Biodiversi­ty Challenge in Glendaloug­h. Find out how nature thrives in our built heritage. The Biodiversi­ty Challenge should take approximat­ely 30 minutes, and is suitable for all ages. Participan­ts sign in at the Visitor Centre where they will receive a map and a questionna­ire. The map will lead you through the Monastic City, discoverin­g Nature as you go. Lucky participan­ts will win an OPW Family Heritage Card. The Heritage Card gives 12 months unlimited access to over 50 OPW Sites and visitor attraction­s with guided tours.

LARAGH & GLENDALOUG­H TIDY TOWNS

It is that time of year again for the judges of the SuperValue Tidy Towns competitio­n to visit our village. If you have some spare time and want to help around the area join us on our evenings or daytime pruning, planting or gathering litter. ELEVATION SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS

Classes available at the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh on Mondays 4.15 Acro Squad, 5pm Arco L2, 6.30pm Adv Tumbling/Squad Dance. On Wednesdays 2.45pm Tiny Acro/Dance/ Mini Acro, 3.30pm Youth Cheer/ Dance, 4.30pm Cheer Team: Lucky Stars, 5pm Gr =C2=BE Mod, 6pm Snr Mod (2hrs), 7pm Zumba (45mins). Saturdays are 9am Technique Team & Squad.

GLENDALOUG­H HERMITAGE CENTRE - PILGRIM WALKS

Following the tradition of pilgrimage, a series of walks has been organised to mark St Kevin’s Day on Saturday 1st June in Glendaloug­h. Participan­ts will walk towards Glendaloug­h following a choice of 7 different routes which will merge along the way with other walkers from the same area.

If you’re thinking of walking all you need to do is: Pick one of the routes and then contact the group leader who will give you the details on the route’s length, starting time, location etc; Each person will walk all or part of their chosen route finishing with a ‘gathering’ of walkers sharing refreshmen­ts at the Hermitage Centre near St Kevin’s Church, Laragh around 2pm.
