Us­ing fresh yeast cubes or gran­ules: It suf­fices to mix the yeast with flour. There is no need to dis­solve it in liq­uid be­fore mak­ing the dough.

In the su­per­mar­ket you will find fresh yeast along­side dried yeast. It is best to keep it in the pantry when it is still closed. Dried yeast has a long shelf life, es­pe­cially if you keep it in the re­frig­er­a­tor or in the freezer.
