It is with wonder at the ways of the world that we share the good news of a healthy baby boy being born to Aluma and Mikael Guertzenstein. The child was born Monday at the same hospital where his mother was saved 17 years and three days earlier, after the 2002 bus bombing that killed 11 passengers and maimed 50 others. Aluma was so severely wounded in the terrorist attack that she was at first numbered among the dead. Then, miraculously, with the help of Hadassah University Medical Center, she slowly fought her way back to life and functionality. Her story appeared in Barbara Sofer’s November 8 column. (Courtesy)
