UNCOMMON EDMOND

I had the distinct pleasure and honor of working for 10 years as a senior portfolio manager in the Investment Management Department of Republic National Bank of NY, which is mentioned prominently in your profile of Edmond Safra (“Getting to the heart of Edmond J. Safra,” September 2). He was truly a unique individual.

Edmond knew I was an Orthodox Jew, so whenever a religious issue surfaced (such as having to say Kaddish for a member of his family), he would call on me. Ditto with investment questions and issues.
