I read the September 16 cover story (“Unbroken Familial Bonds”) with much interest, as it struck very close to home. My wife Jane is a convert, as are two of our children from her first marriage. We subsequently adopted two boys who were put up for adoption by their non-Jewish birth parents. We converted both of them as well. Only my son from my first marriage and I did not require conversion.
Many years later, Jane and
I can look back and see that everything has turned out for the best. The old saying “You should lead an interesting life” has proven to be absolutely true in our case.
